What Have You Been Doing?

We've been participating in hardcore potty training!

We dove in full-force on Monday, had a bit of a break on Tuesday (I had to work) and jumped right back on it on Wednesday. Today is day two of us wearing nothing but underwear (even when we leave the house) and so far, we have had very few accidents!!! I am amazed at how much changing from Pull-Ups to these:
has made! Anybody out there potty training should SERIOUSLY consider purchasing them! They are AWESOME!! I guess the pull-up was just too much like a diaper?!?! Whatever was holding us up, I am soooo glad that the training is going so easily! Afterall, I do have a house filled with stubborn people children!

6 Months Ago Today...

My baby was born!
Wow! Where has time gone? Six months ago today I was scared to death of what was about to come. I was worried that I had messed up something good and that having two children would require more love than I had to give. I thought wrong. I love my little ladies more and more each day. As Reese gets older I LOVE seeing her and Nora's friendship develop. What started out as a ROUGH relationship between siblings has turned into something great. Nora LOVES her little sister with all her heart and will do anything for her (except admit that I am Reese's Mommy... if you ask Nora where Reese's Mommy is, her response is: Reese's mommy is at the doctor's). Reese LOVES Nora just as much!

Overall Reese has come a long way. I will have to admit her early days were no walk in the park, but she has come along. She is no longer lactose intollerant and she has started eating solids. She still is VERY much a Mama's girl and will do as much as make herself throw-up if I am not near her and she wants me. She has decided that taking a bottle is for the birds, so this has put a whole new glitch in me working. She just recently learned to roll from her back to her stomach and is now spending her time trying to figure out how to crawl. Unlike her big sister, who had several teeth by this time, Reese has none. I have to admit I am pretty thankful for this.

Happy half birthday baby girl! The past 6 months have been some of the most fun, craziest, sleep deprived days of my life, but I wouldn't change it for anything! I look forward to spending many, many more with you (although I hope they arent always sleep deprived) =0)

Milestones: Reese Rolls Over!!!

Reese rolled over today!!! I have to admit I was becoming a bit nervous at the fact that she had yet to do this. Not to compare my children, but Nora had accomplished this feat when she 4 months old. I know every child is different, but a nearly two month difference had made me put this thought on my "ask the pediatrician" list for the next visit. Unfortunately I missed the actual event. I have to admit I was on my computer vegging out while she played on the floor. I had purposely put her on her back (she really prefers her stomach and always has) and next thing I knew, I looked down to find this:

Needless to say, she was pretty proud of herself.
On another note, do you think she could look anymore like her Dad? Holy Cow!

Swimming Lessons

I have always thought that knowing how to really swim would be very benefiicial to my children. I also have thought that getting them interested in something physically challenging prior to them realizing that it was just that would also be good for their overall health. So, today we started swimming lessons. Finding lessons available for Nora that I did not have to get in the water with her (since I cant because I also have Reese and a husband who works ALL.THE.TIME) proved to be a bit challenging. After doing some research though, I found a place and it seems to be awesome. Unlike your typical swim lessons where you go for a couple of weeks everyday and then wait until the next year to do it again, these swim lessons are ongoing. She starts now and will progress until she is physically able to swim competively. I honestly think that she might be pretty good. To say she loves the water is a complete understatement and she really really picks up on learning new things very quickly. I sure hope she likes it, because I have to admit I was one pretty proud Mama when we were there.

P.S I know the pics are HORRIBLE. But its what I got =0(

Week 12: 2.4 pounds lost and another goal met!!

Woohoo... it is hard to believe that I have been on this adventure for twelve weeks. I can honestly say that it is finally becoming more of a way of life and less of a feeling of being restricted and on a diet. I no longer mind "watching what I eat". In fact, I feel somewhat out of control on days when I don't. I like knowing what is going in my body and thus feeding my baby. It feels good to me. It makes me feel like if I dont have anything else under control in my life, at least I have gotten a grip on taking a little bit of care of myself! Anywho. I lost 2.4 pounds. That brings me to a total weight of 154.4 lbs. I honestly do not remember when I weighed this last and with this weight loss the pants that I had been making work the week before were now falling off!!

Old Friend, Good Times...

You know that one friend you have from way back?  Maybe highschool, middle school, or maybe even grade school? The one that can live miles and miles away from you, who you talk to very little, see about four times a year and every time you meet its like they were never gone? Yeah, that friend. Well that friend of mine is Sarah.

We have been friends for quite some time. Even though she lives in Tennessee we still manage to stay in touch. I know she is someone that I can, no matter what, call and get an honest opinion from. She has been there through the thick and thin, knows all my secrets and does not judge. I am lucky to call her my friend. After ten years of living all over the country, she gave me the best news I ve heard from her since Ashlynn(her youngest baby) was born: THEY ARE MOVING BACK!!! As in somewhere near Kansas City. Minutes from me. I can't wait!! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for my girls to have as good of a time as they did today more often, and I would LOVE to be able to hear her laugh, because everybody that knows Sarah knows that is really what she is all about =0)

Facing the Beast: Week 12 - 156.8

Wooohooo the weight continues to come off. I have to admit that there is a reason that it has been awhile since there has been an update. It is because I FELL OFF THE WAGON. It all started around my husband's birthday (February 24th) and did not end until last week. Everyday that I was "off the wagon" I would tell myself that I needed to get back on it, and then, guess what? I ate more shit  food.
I have always been a push just to the limits kinda person. Living life comfortably isnt what I do. I wait until the last minute to do just about anything and with weight, when I fall off the wagon, I tend to not get back on it until I have gained a pound or two. Thankfully this time it stuck to just a pound or two and not 60! So... anyway, I am back on the wagon and have apparently lost a few pounds. When I entered my weight online it told me overall I had lost a little over 25 pounds. I guess you could consider that a success. If nothing else, its motivation to me to keep on keeping on. Hopefully soon (in the next three weeks or so) I can say I weigh one hundred forty something.... I sure hope so. My overall goal is finally getting near. So near I can almost  taste it!!

Milestones: Reese Eats Solids

Feeding Reese for the first time was a family affair. Funny enough, so far, Reese eats better when Nora feeds her!! It might have something to do with the choo choo noises made while she does it =0)
Here she is after she was all done.
From the looks of this picture you might question what we fed her! I promise it was just boring ol' rice cereal =0)

Facing the Beast Week 10: Whoops... Not an Ounce Lost

Well, I knew I was in for a challenge this week. It was a rough week and I fell off the wagon. As anybody who has an addiction to food knows, celebrations are reasons to eat. Well this past week was filled with many celebrations including both my best friend and husband's birthdays. To say I ate crappy would be an understatement. I ate like complete SHIT. Thankfully when I stepped on the scale, although I did not lose any weight, I also did not gain any. How that is possible amazes me. Oh well. I keep telling myself that today is a new week, a fresh start, and that I still have several pounds to lose. All the celebrations are pretty much a thing of the past now, so I have no excuse other than laziness for not sticking with my plan. Stay tuned. I'm hoping that next week I can get on here and say I found my motivation again and that I have lost a few more pounds!
