Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween to all of you!! It's been awhile since we last posted, but as usual we have been busy!! We had lots of fun celebrating Nora's first halloween. We took a trip to Topeka's Boo at the Zoo and also went to a Halloween playdate with a local Mommy and Me group. Of course lots of people thought Nora was just adorable. I would have to agree! Nora also went to the Deanna Rose Farmstead for the first time a few weeks back when my friend, Sarah and her family were back for a visit to Kansas.

Believe it or not, it has been TWELVE weeks since Nora was born and so with that comes my return to work. Nora will start her training as case manager on Monday, and later will learn to spend her days with her cousin Zach and his Mommy. Although it will be hard to return to work, I truly am thankful to have such a family oriented workplace AND a sister who lives right up the street who can watch my child.
I have decided since Nora is doing SOOOO many new things that in order to keep those of you in the loop who care, I will post her latest accomplishments each time I blog. I've got some catching up to do this time! So far, Nora is holding her head up, grabbing toys, smiling and really interacting with people. For the most part she continues to be a very happy baby, though Great Grandma and Grandpa may beg to differ considering she cries EVERY single time we stop by to see them!

Until next time, take care!

All Smiles!

Nora had to get her first round of shots today, and as you can tell from the pictures above, it bothered me more than it did her! Not much keeps the girl from smiling these days! Everything at the doctor's went well. She is now 10 lbs 6 oz (29th percentile), 23.5 inches long (83rd percentile), and has a whoppin head that measures 15.75 inches (thank goodness she waited to get this from her daddy until after she was born)!
Hope everything is going as well for you as it is for her...
Until next time, take care!

My Smiley Girl... I love you so!

Ten little fingers, ten little toes -

Rosy little lips, and a button nose.

So soft and cuddly with a baby sweet smell.

Eyes so full of trust that I just can't fail.

I know a gift of God you had to be -
How else could something so perfect come to me?
You wiggle and snuggle, gurgle and coo -
Do you know of all the love in my heart for you?

So, not all photographers are created equal

So I said that Nora and I were gonna set around the house and take it easy. I lied. Today I found a special online at Sears for a halloween collage and no sitting fee at their portrait studio. Knowing that Nora had just turned two months I really wanted to get her pictures taken and also really wanted to send out Halloween cards... so when I came across this I thought PERFECT... well needless to say, it wasn't. The lady was slow as snails, didn't have any concept of working QUICKLY when dealing with a 2 month old, and was really rude! After TWO trips to the studio (I gave up the first time and scheduled a time to come back later) we got a few good pics of Nora as a kitty cat. Needless to say this adventure also taught me the value of having a good friend who also happens to be a photographer... Needless to say we will NOT be going back to Sears for our future photo takings. Oh and by the way, that said photographer friend also got me hooked on a website called scrapblog.com where I made the following collages:

Man, times change so fast!

Well it seems everytime I turn around Nora is getting bigger and changing SOOO fast. Nora turned TWO MONTHS OLD yesterday and with it being such a sad day (my Aunt Sue's funeral) it didnt dawn on me until about 9:00pm that this was the case. A lot has been going on lately, including, Grandma and Grandpa Bukaty's 80th birthday celebration:

Nora's first trip to the Kansas City Zoo (with Aunt Molly and Aunt Tracy, Grandma Miller and Cousins, Nolan and Carson:

and sadly enough an unplanned trip back to SE Kansas for a funeral where Nora got to meet all of her Pool family (sorry no pics taken, forgot the camera).

After all of this, Nora and I plan on having a few days where we do nothing but hang out around the house with a couple of good cousins, Zachy and Ethan. Nora really has grown fond of Zachy and they do a lot of cuddling on the couch:
Until next time, take care!!!
