I Think We've Turned A Corner

The little lady of our house is quickly approaching her two month birthday. It seems impossible to think that she has been with us this long. Thankfully with this time we have all adjusted to having her in her family and things are going MUCH more smoothly. She is sleeping better, smiling more often and crying VERY little compared to the first 6 weeks. So quickly she is becoming a little person. I cannot believe it, but with a little help she can sit in the bumbo chair. She still is quite in love with the Maya wrap, and if she does start to cry then almost every single time, if I just put her in it, she will stop crying. It is so different having a child who wants to be held vs. having a child who NEVER wanted to be held. Honestly at first I was annoyed by it, but now, I wouldnt have it any other way. Today I measured her and she is 24 inches long. She was 19 and 3/4 inches when she was born. Although I have no idea what she weighs, she is doing a very good job of filling up her 3 to 6 month clothes!

Memories

Growing up my Dad was one tough cookie about having table manners. We ALWAYS had to sit at the table until everybody was finished, we had to ask him to be excused and we NEVER thought about getting up and walking around the table. My oldest sister did that, and we all learned our lesson. One night at dinner my Mom and I were being goofy. We were eating peaches and we both had put them in our mouth and made smiles out of them. My Mom started the game, but unfortunately just when I decided to follow along, my Dad noticed MY peach face smile. Just when he was about to chew me out he looked over at my Mom who was doing the same thing. For some reason, I will never forget this memory. I think this incident perfectly sums up the roles my parents played in my life. Dad was the "boss" who I was scared to death of, and my Mom was my best friend. Tonight at dinner I looked over at Nora and this is what she was doing:
Yep, thats my girl. That is NOT her tongue. Its a piece of meat. She thought she was sooo funny. I have to admit, I did too!

A Miracle Has Happened!!!

Reese has become (somewhat fond) of being put down and doing something other than hanging out in the Maya wrap. Over the past couple of days, she has been content sitting in her highchair titled back to stare at the lights or under her playgym. Since the dogs are a bit too loving we set it up in the pack and play and she hangs out in there. She doesnt love it nearly as much as Nora did, but heck, with her, getting ten minutes sans Maya wrap is a major improvement. Maybe my little snugglebear is beginning to like this outside world afterall!

Breakfast at our house:

I guess if you can't get anybody else to sit at the table with you, Eeyore will just have to do =0)

My Girls

Although this might not be the nicest picture to post, I think it is very real. It perfectly sums up the personalities of my girls at this time in our lives. Nora is happy as can be, smiling all the time and Reese, well, I'll just let the picture speak for itself. We have learned that the saying "no two children are the same" really is the truth =0) We love them both the same though, and know that we are very blessed to have two lovely little girls!

The best thing about staying home...

is that we can have lazy days spent in jammies snuggling on the couch.

P.S. You think Reece looks anything like her Daddy?? LOL.
