Zonkers

Nora and I spent the day with my friend Sarah and her kids at Zonkers (basically an indoor amusement park for little kiddos). I have to be honest, I really did not think there would be much that Nora would enjoy but I went anyway. I guess sometimes my initial instincts are WRONG! Nora LOVED it. Her favorite thing?!?! The roller coaster. She wanted to ride it nonstop. Unfortunately she has not quite learned the concept of taking turns and waiting in lines so parts of the day were rough, but after awhile she learned that she would get "moe" just so long as she a) got off of the ride and b) waited her turn in line. I honestly think we rode the darn thing about ten times.
In between riding the roller coaster I decided to put on my big girl panties (those that know me well know that things that move slowly especially in circles do not fare well with my body) and ride the carousel with her. I thought she would like it. Her response to the ride? About half way through she looked at me as she was trying to climb off of the horse and stated as matter of factly as possible "sow mamma sow". She thought the ride was boring! Back off to the roller coaster we went. I guess we will be adding riding roller coasters to Nora's favorites list!

BTW: sorry there arent any pics. I am bummed to say I left the camera at home =0( Something tells me we will be going back soon though and I will certainly be taking a camera then!

Baby It's Cold Outside

Nora played in the snow for her first time today. Of course since it was "side" she loved it!!! Nothing stops this girl from her love of the outdoors! Her Mamma on the other hand would have preferred to be inside where it was nice and warm!
Here she is all bundled up and ready to head out:

Not quite sure what to think about it quite yet:

Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!
Oh! I can play in my Cozy Coupe?!?! Good luck getting me inside Mom!

Merry Christmas

Tis the Season...

for A LOT of Christmas celebrations. Ours began tonight with a cousins Christmas at Nora'a Great Aunt Lisa's. Santa made a visit and Nora wanted NOTHING to do with him. She started crying the minute he walked in the door and tried her best to stay as far away as possible the entire time he was there. Needless to say, I was thankful that I trusted my judgement and did NOT wait in a huge line and pay money only to have a horrible Santa experience!

My oh my...

Where did Nora taking a nap go?! This past week has been interesting. Up until about a month ago, Nora NEVER would skip her nap. You could lay her down anytime after noon and she would lay down, stick her little rump up in the air and go to sleep. No crying, fussing, nothing. Just straight to sleep. A few weeks back, I came home and Patty (our nanny) informed me that Nora refused to take a nap. I was shocked, but thought, oh well. That is until she started pulling this stunt again and again. This week she refused to take a nap on Sunday, Tuesday, Friday, and again today. You wanna know how long she napped for yesterday at Grandma's? A whoppin 45 minutes! What the heck! She has always taken HONKIN BIG LONG NAPS! Call me a mean Momma if you want to, but I have let her cry for TWO HOURS. She DOES NOT give up. Funny (or not so funny if you're me) is that she has her mind made up before she even goes up to her bed that she is not going to nap. She even tells me "uh uh" before we head up the stairs! She is such a little stinker! Somebody needs to send her a memo letting her know her Mamma is not going to back down! No way, no way, no way! Naps are a must at the Miller house (or else we are going to have to add on some hours for our dear ol nanny so this momma can get some work done)!

Where oh where has my baby gone?!?!

Nora turned SIXTEEN MONTHS OLD TODAY. I cannot believe it. I often wonder where my little baby went. It doesnt seem possible that we have already made it this far. We have been so blessed with such a sweet, loving, easy-going little girl. We definately could not have asked for anything better!

Here are some new happenings for Nora:
- She speaks in sentences. Two in particular. The newest one being "I love you". Yep, shes a sweetheart!
-She is growing like a weed. I have no idea how much she weighs or how tall she is but her clothes keep on getting smaller and it seems we are CONSTANTLY replacing the "choes" (shoes).
-She still loves her Nanny, Miss Patty. We love her too. She is great! Knowing that you have a loving person caring for your child makes it SO much easier to leave for work.
-Nora has been refusing her naps. Coming from the child who has always been like clockwork this is a tough one to adjust to. Her stubborn attitude wins every.single.time and she just does not give in. What is a Mamma to do?!? Any suggestions?!?!
-Nora continue to be very tidy. She always sits her sippy cups on the table when she is not drinking from them, ensures that the doors are all closed, the toilet seat is down, the dogs cages are closed and the beds are in them just so.
-Nora has become quite the little helper when it is time to put the dogs in their cage. This honestly warrants a video it is so humorous but I havent gotten around to filming one... stay tuned I will try my best to remember!
-Nora still LOVES her shoes and has added hats, bows and jackets to the things she is obsessed about.
-Nora loves to brush her teeth. She will not let you leave her room in the morning without getting them brushed. Heres to hoping this means that she will have good teeth like her Dadda!! Lord knows we can only afford one bad mouth in this house!

Last but not least, here are some new pics. Could somebody PLEEEEAAAAAASE stop the clock? My baby is growing up too fast and I DON'T LIKE IT AT ALL!

Piggy Tails!!

The little lady finally has hair!! It's not exactly grown in evenly (she might just have a mullet), but needless to say we finally got some piggy tails. Even more surprising is that she is leaving them in!!!

Someday...

I might be a little skinnier and feel comfier in my clothes.
Feel a little prettier and wear nice clothes.
For now, however, my priority will be
making sure that my little girl loves me for me!
I will be sure to give her all I can.
Spend every minute with her that I possibly can.
I will ensure that those who care for her are nice
and make for certain that she has all sorts of opportunities throughout her life.
For now that I am a mother, my priority will be
to make for certain that my little lady becomes all that she can be!

Here are a few of my favorite things...
