We've Got a Mover and Shaker

I felt the baby move for the first time a couple of days ago. I was lying in bed when all of a sudden I felt a jolt in my stomach. At first I thought what the heck and then I remembered I was pregnant and that that was the baby! I was shocked. I dont recall feeling the baby this early with Nora, but I very much so remember the first time she moved. I was at work, getting ready to start a meeting. I was shocked then too. Feeling the baby is sooo great. It's like I REALLY am pregnant. Now the signs of life are more than my body getting larger and hearing the heartbeat once a month at the doctor. My worrying about rather or not this little being is alive and well will now subside and I will just continue to count down the days until this little bean makes its grand entrance into the world!

Big Girl Bed

Yesterday while at Grandma's house, Nora climbed out of the crib. Today we bought Nora a big girl bed. I am sad and excited at the same time. Like everything so far with the little lady, she reaches a milestone long before I planned on her hitting it. Nursing = 9 months and she was DONE. Walking = 12 months and she was off. Eating = no problem when you have had a mouth full of teeth since you were four months old. Binky = one night Mama forgets to take it upstairs the next day it was gone. Bottle = so you want me to drink out of a sippy cup, there is still milk in it, right? Okay. Hopefully the switch from crib to big girl bed will be just as easy. Something tells me keeping the monkey in the bed might just be a little on the tricky side. We havent switched her yet. Afterall, we were just thinking about how we would need to snatch the crib from her.. We have however made a big start on getting her baby room turned into a big girl room. Wanna see the plans? Here they are:
This bed:

the bed is pewter colored

This bedding:

and these sheets (in pink floral)

We plan on painting the walls a VERY light gray color and using full length curtains the color of the bedspread for window treatments.
Here was my inspiration. Unfortunately I was NOT willing to spend nearly what they wanted for the stuff in this room =0)

I hope it turns out as whimsical as my heart thinks it will. Afterall my little princess needs the perfect room.  Come October her world is about to be ROCKED.

Fix Your Feet

As many of you may know our little lady is plagued with "low muscle tone". What does this mean? Her feet turn inward, she more than occationally trips over them, and we are on the lookout for improvement. She has been seen by a pediatrician and assessed by an Physical Therepist. As it stands now we are just watching and waiting to see if as she grows her legs strengthen themselves and her feet straighten themselves out. Until then we have to be very stern about the way she sits and also have to do leg strengthening/stretching exercises. She is not allowed to sit on her feet, or have her legs under her at all while sitting. When we were told this I thought holy hell how in the world are we going to keep her from doing this? This is the ONLY way the girl sits. Surprisingly she has done a PHENOMINAL job at "fixing her feet" and now is catching herself when she sits down! Although we have a ways to go on getting those legs strengthened, I am SOOO proud of my little girls accomplishments in sitting with "pretty feet". Hopefully by the time she is three "fixing your feet" will be a thing of the past. If not, then we will be sure to get the coolest AFO's possible for the cutest little girl =0)

Rockin Out in the 911

Today was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. So what did we do? We took advantage of it. We drove around in "Daddy's Car", soaked up the sunshine and had a great time. Even Nora likes the sun shining down on her with the wind blowing through her hair!! Good thing, because on days like these, I dont think she really has a choice =0)

Spring Time Fun!!

We LOVE Deanna Rose Farmstead. It has to be one of my all time favorite places. There is just too many fun things to do. The possibilities are endless. It seems as though every time we go there, there is never enough time to see or do everything. Without fail, we crash from exhaustion long before we have seen or done everything. Oh well! I guess the nice thing is that we now live VERY close to it, so we can easily go whenever time allows. I see LOTS of trips in our future! Here are pics from our most recent one. Like most trips, we took this one with our dear friends, the Mack's. Afterall things just arent as fun without Aiden =0)

Hop

Nora is obsessed with hopping these days. Unfortunately even though the little girl tries her heart out, she is just not developmentally there yet. Oh well... if nothing else, all the toe raises she does daily surely will build up some awesome leg muscles =0)

A Beautiful Spring Day..

I had been thinking that Nora needed "stuff" to play with outside. Aside from a few ride on toys, she really had nothing. She LOVES to play out on our deck, and since our yard is much lower than the main level of our house, I have to admit I am quite guilty of gating off the deck and letting her run in and out of the house freely. After considering purchasing a swingset we decided to hold off on that and so I decided a sandbox would be perfect. So far, Nora seems to like it, though she was a little hesistant to get in it at first. After being sat in it by me, she had a good time and I think it just might be our new way for Mommy to get her work done on days that she is trying to work from home!!

(I think this might be one of my new favorite pics of the little lady)

A Fun Day with a Great Friend:

Conversations with the litttle lady...

The conversations with Nora just keep getting better. Today I went upstairs to get her out of bed after her nap. I walked into her room and this is what happened:

Nora: HI MAMMA!! HI!!
Me: Hi, Nora how are you? Did you have a good nap?
Nora: Standing up in her crib pointing at her diaper "Mamma, I pooped in here. MAMMA I POOPED IN HERE".
Me: "Okay Nora, well lets change your poopies"
Nora: Okay Mamma. Thank you"

Pregnancy Update

I went to the doctor today for my regular check-up. Nothing new or exciting going on. The baby is healthy, I am healthy (and doing a good job of maintaining my weight) and all is good. I found out today that it will be the first part of June before we find out what this little one is. I am soooo excited/anxious I can hardly wait. Hopefully the next 8 or so weeks go a little quicker than the past 12 or so have!!

Easter "Supise"

Nora recieved her Easter Surprise from her Grandma and Grandpa Bercaw today. We have made a big deal out of surprises around here lately (it is how we got her to get back to sleeping normal again) so when she came inside, and saw her "supise" she was REALLY excited. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa. You made the little girls day!
