Big Girl Bed

Yesterday while at Grandma's house, Nora climbed out of the crib. Today we bought Nora a big girl bed. I am sad and excited at the same time. Like everything so far with the little lady, she reaches a milestone long before I planned on her hitting it. Nursing = 9 months and she was DONE. Walking = 12 months and she was off. Eating = no problem when you have had a mouth full of teeth since you were four months old. Binky = one night Mama forgets to take it upstairs the next day it was gone. Bottle = so you want me to drink out of a sippy cup, there is still milk in it, right? Okay. Hopefully the switch from crib to big girl bed will be just as easy. Something tells me keeping the monkey in the bed might just be a little on the tricky side. We havent switched her yet. Afterall, we were just thinking about how we would need to snatch the crib from her.. We have however made a big start on getting her baby room turned into a big girl room. Wanna see the plans? Here they are:
This bed:

the bed is pewter colored

This bedding:

and these sheets (in pink floral)

We plan on painting the walls a VERY light gray color and using full length curtains the color of the bedspread for window treatments.
Here was my inspiration. Unfortunately I was NOT willing to spend nearly what they wanted for the stuff in this room =0)

I hope it turns out as whimsical as my heart thinks it will. Afterall my little princess needs the perfect room.  Come October her world is about to be ROCKED.

That is so not what I thought you'd go with. :o) It is very girly, feminine and traditional not the retro, funky stuff you usually go for. :o) I love it!

I'd been bouncing back and forth. I found this pic awhile back and LOVED it. Didnt think much about it since it was SOOO stinkin expensive and then I found a knock-off bed and went from there. I think it will be a little more timeless than the funky stuff =0)
